René Briand does not use animal products during any part of the winemaking process, making our wines suitable for vegans!

René Briand has a carefully curated, unique production process that gives the bubbles their elegance, aromatic notes, and finesse. Winemakers use a lengthened version of the Charmat Method, with regulated horizontal vats large enough to extend the typically short aging process to 4 months. 

After natural fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the bubbles are formed in the vats with custom paddles used to put the lees into suspension daily. The wine then undergoes a secondary fermentation with one of the most well-known and efficient types of yeast. Our winemakers take special measures to reduce the fining, filteration, and pumping during fermentation in order to guarantee a high quality final result.
